‘White as new fallen snow’ is a misnomer. As an artist, when you look at snow you will see many different colors, usually reflections of the sky, the surrounding trees and buildings. When you paint snow, use light washes of blues, pinks and warm colors. You can use shadows of nearby objects to help show snow drifts.
